Alicante Airport is located in South-eastern Spain 9 kilometres from the city of Alicante in the municipality of Elche and is the main gateway for people wishing to holiday on the Costa Blanca.
With the number of passengers flying to Alicante increasing year on year, the old two-terminal facility was replaced by a new modern four-story structure in 2011.
With only one terminal Alicante-Elche airport is extremely easy to find your way around and was designed to be passenger friendly and efficient.
All the check-in desks and gates are located on the fourth floor along with the duty-free shop and all shopping and dining options. Arrivals are located on the ground floor and contain all car rental offices at the airport. Adjacent to the terminal you will find a multi-level car park connected to the terminal by a walkway. The car park is also the drop-off and pick-up point for car rental.
Alicante-Elche airport is the 5th biggest airport in Spain handling over 13 million passengers per year with connections to most major cities in Europe and is a hub for Ryanair, Vueling, Norwegian Air and Jet2. Other than a few flights to North Africa, passengers arriving from outside Europe usually clear customs in Madrid or Barcelona and then catch a connecting flight to Alicante.
Alicante airport has all the facilities you would expect to find in a modern European airport with the benefit of having everything you need in a single terminal.
In Alicante-Elche airport you have the following services:
Taxis: Alicante-Elche airport has two taxi ranks, one directly outside the arrivals area and the other on the departure level.
Buses: Alicante-Elche airport has a dedicated bus service that operates on a loop with the city of Alicante stopping at the main bus station train station and other important points in the city. All buses drop off and pick up from a stop on the departures level and operate every 20 minutes around the clock.
All the major European car hire companies have desks at Alicante airport and have dedicated areas for their cars in the adjacent parking garage.
Alicante airport has both short and long term parking with the main parking garage, P1 just metres from the terminal. Other options include long term parking next to the old terminals just a short walk to the new terminal building.
Several private parking companies operate near to Alicante airport and offer a free shuttle bus from their lots to the terminal.
