This certificate was issued to Alicante Airport by the Airports Council International (ACI), the international umbrella organisation of airport operators.
To ensure the Covid-safety of airports, the ACI, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), and the World Health Organisation (WHO) have drawn up a series of guidelines. These relate to the relevant hygiene regulations and safety protocols. The award of the AHA certificate confirms Alicante Airport’s full compliance with all of these guidelines.

This programme evaluates front-line facilities and services of airports around the world. It determines the effectiveness and consistency of the airports’ COVID-19 protocols and procedures. The 5-star rating awarded to Alicante Airport certifies the excellent standards provided for customers and staff in relation to hygiene, cleanliness, and COVID-19 safety.
