Coronavirus (Covid-19): Guidance for Travelling via Alicante Airport
Alicante Airport during Coronavirus (Covid-19) – Help us to protect you – your diligence when travelling will assist us in keeping you safe.
Before setting off for Alicante Airport
Thoroughly read through all the relevant guidance you have been given by your airline.
Check in online if possible, and print off or download your boarding pass.
All arrivals from abroad require either an EU Digital Covid Certificate (or equivalent) or a completed health questionnaire. For more information, please see below.
The use of face masks may still be required with some airlines and at some airports. Remember to bring sufficient face masks and disinfectant gel for your journey. Your face mask should be replaced every 4 hours to remain effective.
Covid-19 rules to be followed at all times
As of 20/04/2022, the wearing of a face mask is no longer mandatory at Alicante Airport.
Maintain a distance of 1.5 meters.
Wash your hands at regular intervals for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or, when not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer solutions.
Cover your mouth and nose with a disposable tissue or into your flexed elbow when sneezing or coughing.
For your own protection, please ensure that you minimise contactwith any surfaces whilst at the airport or on the plane, at car hire desks or on public transport such as buses or taxis.
Coronavirus – departing from Alicante Airport
Ensure you have plenty of time to check-in and pass through the departures security areas with any new procedures in place.
If possible, it is recommended that you do not carry hand luggage.
Only use a water bottle or container at the airports water fountains.
Remember to maintain a physicalsafetydistance of 1.5 metres from other people whenever possible.
Depending on your airline, you may be required to wear a face mask when you board your aircraft and for the duration of your flight.
Minimise contact with surfaces at the airport.
After access to the airport terminal had been restricted to passengers only since July 2020, from the 15th of October 2021, the general public is once more permitted to enter the airport building.
Covid-testing at Alicante Airport
Alicante Airport has a Covid test centre for departing passengers. This is located on the second floor of departures. Please familiarise yourself with the current entry regulations for your travel destination several days prior to departure. On the plane
Frequently disinfect your hands using your hand sanitizer. Cough on the inside of your elbow.
Depending on your airline, you may be required to wear a face mask for the duration of your flight. Please follow the instructions given by the cabin crew.
If you begin to experience symptoms during your flight, notify the cabin staff promptly.
Limit unnecessary movement within the cabin.
Reduce the use of individual overhead air supply vents/nozzles as much as possible.
Coronavirus – arriving at Alicante Airport
Arrivals from abroad during Covid-19
All passengers arriving in Alicante from abroad must show one of the following:
An EU Digital Covid Certificate or equivalent OR
A completed Health Control Form

Please note: Children under the age of 12 are exempt and do not have to show a Digital Covid Certificate of Health Control Form.
Arrivals from EU countries
Anyone travelling to Alicante Airport from an EU country must be able to provide meet one ofthe following requirements:
Fully vaccinated
Recovered from COVID-19
Negative diagnostic test result (either PCR-test taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival or antigen-test taken no more than 24 hours prior to arrival)
Adult travellers from countries outside the EU must meet one of the following requirements on arrival at Alicante Airport unless they belong to an “exempt” category :
Exempt. No proof of vaccination or negative test result is required.
Proof of full vaccination OR Proof of negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival at Alicante Airport. OR Proof of recovery
New arrivals procedures at Alicante Airport during Covid-19
On arrival at Alicante Airport, you will need to show your EU Digital Covid Certificate (or equivalent) OR your completed health questionnaire.
You will be required to pass a temperature control check upon your arrival.
Whilst waiting to collect your luggage keep the safety distance of 1.5 metres. Rather than standing together in a group at the carousel, collect the baggage individually.
Access to the airport building is possible for travellers as well as non-travellers.
