Depending on your destination, you may still require a negative Covid-test certificate to board your plane and to enter the country you are travelling to. What are the options when flying from Alicante Airport?
The facility at Alicante Airport is no longer operational. If you require a Covid test for travel from Alicante Airport, you will need to arrange this elsewhere, before you travel.
International air travel has become a lot easier again this year. Rules have been relaxed considerably and many countries no longer ask for any Covid-related documentation. However, depending on your travel destination and vaccination status, you may still require proof of a negative Covid test to fly and to enter the country. It is therefore very important to check the current entry regulations in good time before you are due to fly, to allow yourself enough time to arrange a test, if needed.
That will depend on your travel destination. You may need an antigen-test or a PCR-test. Please read the most up-to-date government guidelines of the country you are travelling to. If in doubt, you can also enquire with your airline.
You will need to ensure that the test certificate is in a format that is accepted for air travel and that you have taken the test within the specified time-frame before your arrival at your travel destination.
This is a very sensitive test which is generally thought to yield accurate results. It is more expensive than an antigen test and you may need to wait longer to obtain your results.
An antigen test (also called lateral flow test) is usually a lot cheaper than a PCR and results can often be obtained within 15 – 30 minutes. This type of test is less accurate than a PCR, which is why it is not accepted by all countries.
There are still a lot of places that offer Covid-tests in Alicante. We have listed a few examples below but there should be plenty of other options, if none of these are convenient for you. If you are not staying in Alicante, you will also be able to find a test provider that is more local to you. Wherever you go to get tested, just make sure to obtain a certificate that is valid for travel.
